Our Story

Like many success stories, Red Armour was born over a few pints down the pub.

As a seasoned IT professional, Lance Haig was uncomfortably aware of the lack of service ethic that characterised his industry.
At the beginning of 2003, over a few Carlsbergs, Lance realised that he wasn’t alone in his opinion.
So he, his wife and business partner Nell, with two others, started to talk about what could be done.

It was clear that the industry wouldn’t change itself, so the small team decided to change the industry by starting up on their own.
A few pints later, the ideas started to flow. A haystack took the stage for a few minutes, because that’s where they would find the
needle of excellent customer care. Later, Novell made an appearance, and the team realised that their brand should incorporate
the red of the industry’s ‘underdog’. Finally, with a mission to provide a secure solution and inspiration from the protection that
soldiers wear, Red Armour emerged.

With some changes in business leadership, Lance picked up the baton himself in 2008 and since then has built gradually the business.
Lance and Nell recruited Dev while they were on holiday in Cornwall, convincing him that he could make better use of his talents and
expertise as part of the Red Armour team. Nell came on board in 2008 after spending far too many hours coping with the daily commute to London.
